WAR ESCALATION

In North-Eastern DRC, Rwanda-backed M23 rebels are reported to have entered the region’s second-largest city of Bukavu on Friday, after taking over the major city of Goma on the Rwanda border.The conflict is drawing in neighboring countries, creating fears of a wider regional war.

Beheadings:

70 Christians were beheaded in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo by ISIS-aligned militants.

REFUGE ENCAMPMENTS

Humanitarian Crisis:

The conflict has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis, with millions of people displaced.

There are widespread reports of human rights abuses, including killings and sexual violence.

ACADEMY NEWS

I am an orphan, my father and mother died. I thank God for this Academy; it is helping my brother and I. We are a Christian family. I am happy with the verse John 3:16. I will serve my God as a singer in church as we do in school. I know that Jesus came to die for my sins, so I gave my heart to Him. I ask God to help me grow in the Word of God. I thank God for the church and the pastor helping us with uniforms, notebooks and pens. God bless us.

I thank God for this Academy for teaching us the Word of God.  Every Monday, the songs and Bible verses help me. I also sing at home (he sings a song similar to our “Victory in Jesus”) and the first verses we learned. John 3:16 When I grow up, I will enjoy serving God. I ask God to give me wisdom and protect my parents. I want us to pray every day.
