Our first annual Ladies’ Conference and the report that I received was encouraging. 48 ladies from three of our six regions attended.
The theme was “Ministry and Unity in the Church.”
A prizes of a women’s cloth was given to the oldest and to the youngest. It is a six yard cloth that they wrap around their waist.
The harsh travel from the jungle took its toll on the ladies but after a few days they were enjoying the conference.
The ladies from the interior jokingly complained about the light breakfasts of the capital city, Kinshasa, consisting of bread, rice and tea. These ladies are used to something called fufu, a root made into a ball of dough. This yellowish ball of dough, pictured in the bottom photo, is pinched off and mixed with greens. It’s a heavy staple that satisfies the hunger.
Several ladies gave testimonies of how God delivered them out of serious health issues, and praised God that they are able to continue to serve Him.
